So, other then my car leaking gas all over Southern New York and Northern New Jersey last week ended ok. I got very drunk on St. Pat’s and then made some money the next day (which went toward getting the car worked on) *sigh* whatever…

Well, I am over the whole ‘Republic Commando’ thing… That game is wack! I’ve moved on to ‘Cold Fear’ ( http://www.coldfeargame.com ) made by a kick ass game studio called ‘Darkworks’. I’m not really one for survival horror genre but damn this game is cool! I actually jumped a couple of times. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out do so!

During the search for a new game I have come across an old favorite repackaged in the form of ‘Tony Hawks Underground 2′ ( http://www.activision.com/microsite/thug2/thug.html )… What a disappointment that was. I guess I should have picked it up right when it first came out. Maybe I thought it is bad because my Tony Hawk skills are complete gone for some reason, it’s like I’ve never played before. Oh, well, I guess I’ll keep at it over the next couple of weeks and maybe I’ll squeeze in enough time to make some progress.Another gem that I’ve discovered somewhat after the fact (being out for two months or so already) is ‘Mercenaries’ ( http://www.lucasarts.com/games/mercenaries/main.html ). It’s nice to run around blowing stuff up. Oh and I guess the graphics and game play are cool too… But, you get to blow stuff up!

Alright, well I have some work to do and I’ve used up my few hours video game playing time window…

Well, I’m not going to work on the sites or do any real work today.. I’ll be out at the parties if anyone needs me.

So, I finally had a chance to stop and play ‘Star Wars: Republic Commando’. And I must say Gabe was right! ( http://www.penny-arcade.com/news.php3?date=2005-03-02 ) It is awesome! But one thing that kind of destroyed the whole game for me was the fact that I was only like 10 to 20 minutes into the game and one of my squad got stuck on some wall or some shit.

I was pissed my four man squad was down to three! So pissed in fact that I killed my mate to see if that would unstick him. Of course upon reviving him he was still just as stuck. I did have to stop playing after that happened but I’ll probably give the game another go tomorrow after work and we’ll see if it can redeem itself.

On the Nintendo DS side of things…

It seems a working DS emulator *for homebrew games* has been released. ( http://www.cyd.liu.se/~micol972/site/dualis/ ) It doesn’t work on my pc but people have reported that it works ok. Also, it seems darkfader ( http://www.darkfader.net ) and the author of hyperDS, another DS emulator, ( http://www.hyperds.com/ ) had a bit of a fight involving the emulator being leaked. This seems to have ended with darkfader removing himself from the DS hack scene. Oh well, it probably won’t be too long till he is back posting his findings.

I still haven’t made the leap into buying a next gen hand-held since I’m still waiting to see the PSP ( http://www.playstation.jp/psp/index.html ) first hand. I didn’t really do too much looking at this before this weekend but since the launch is coming up I figure I may as well start checking it out. *If the disc it takes holds 1.8 gigs and the biggest memory stick you can use so far is 2 gigs does that mean we’ll have game backups? Since games will run of the memory stick…* Hmmmm.
