Seven Days

WTF Mate? The release date of ‘Loop’ seems to be wrong! Barnes and Noble ( http://www.bn.com ) now have it listed as coming out in July 2005. My good friends over at Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com ) have it listed as May 25, 2005 - which is where I got my date from to begin with. Something isn’t right here! On Vertical’s page ( http://www.vertical-inc.com/kojisuzuki_top.html ) they have the book listed as ‘Spring 2005′. This sucks I was looking forward to reading it finally. But, there is some good news. Vertical has ‘Birthday’ listed as coming out sometime in the future also. And to top it all off they have some copies of ‘Dark Water’ (a the remake of the film version should be hitting screens this summer I think) signed…

http://www.vertical-inc.com/buydirect.html

There are a limited number of signed copies of Dark Water available for sale - and this is the only place to get ‘em!

And at only $35 who wouldn’t want one? Actually, most people won’t want one - but I do!

And what does this bring us to? Well, my question is why would Hollywood bother making another Ring movie? Didn’t ‘The Ring 2′ do bad at the box office? ( http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/618/618877p1.html ) It’s not set in stone but I guess they’ll just do some sort of rip off on Birthday and call it a trilogy. Bah, I’ll just torrent the work print again cause it probably won’t be worth my $8.50 (or however much it costs by then) to go see it.

Oh, and I just wanted to point this out. Well, I myself am not the king speller or linguist I would hope that a book publisher wouldn’t have an error on thier webpage.

http://www.vertical-inc.com/kojisuzuki_overview.html

possibly betraying his species and bringing back his frowned son. You dont know what the Ring is yet

Anyway, I think I’ll go back to playing ‘Myth II’ (or ‘old-ass game’ as a co-worker calls it).

Episode III Is Terrible!

It’s been a little while since I’ve said anything about any video games. Well, I’m putting an end to that now! Episode III for the Xbox (and PS2) is no good. The graphics are ok but it just doesn’t feel right.

After a little while playing the train wreck I searched around the net for a review and thanks to Joystiq ( http://www.joystiq.com ) I found this review over at IGN ( http://ps2.ign.com/articles/610/610501p1.html?fromint=1 ). It’s for the PS2 version but it’s close enough to the Xbox version so… Mind you I’ll probably have it sitting on the shelf next to all the other Star Wars games (Jedi Starfighter anyone?!?) but it never play the final credits on my Xbox.On the other hand the GBA version is almost fun. (It becomes great fun when you have nothing to do well sitting in your office.) Check out a review over at Play Magazine ( http://www.playmagazine.com/index.php?fuseaction=SiteMain.showGamePage&Game_ID=86 )

Opps

Just got an email telling me the RSS was broken. My bad. But, it should be all fixed up now.

I stopped in over at Team Xecuter’s site today to see what was going on over at the home of the best Xbox mod chips and they had an interesting bit of news posted… Well, it was actually posted a couple of days ago but I’ve been busy in the real world…

Dark Corners Of The Earth - Round 2

Yet more ‘Dark Corners of the Earth’ news…

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/press_release.php?aid=8953

Platforms: PS2 & Xbox

Rated: M for Mature

Release Date: Fall 2005

Looks like we may really get a fall release for this title. Oh and over at Gamespot ( http://www.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/callofcthulhudarkcote/media.html ) there is a bunch of videos…

Dark Corners Of The Earth

For some reason as the count down over on the right side for ‘Dark Corners of the Earth’ gets closer to the zero hour I decided to do look in at the official web sites and see what the news was… Looking in at Bethesda’s page it still seems that they hope to have the game released in Q1 2005.

http://www.bethsoft.com/games/games_callofcthulhu.html

Platform: PC and Xbox
ESRB Rating: Mature: Blood and Gore,
Intense Violence,
Strong Language,
Use of Drugs and Alcohol
Release Date: Q1 2005

How they are going to pull that off is beyond me and quite possibly it’s beyond anyone without advanced knowledge of the inner workings of Cthulhu’s date book.

I’m sure that Cthulhu’s Rainlender ( http://www.ipi.fi/~rainy/index.php?pn=projects&project=rainlendar ) looks something like that. That is unless he uses iCal… Makes you wonder which OS the great old one uses doesn’t it? Anyway, from Bethesda’s page it’s a quick link over to the official web site which in and of itself is pretty worthless. The same screen shots which have been there forever, a couple of desktop backgrounds and some links about how ‘anticipated’ the game is. Nothing really worthwhile. In the forum section however there is a bit of interesting news.

“Posting this here before I send it out to the news sites. The release date for Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth has been moved to Q1 2005.”

I’m not even going to say anymore about the above. Which mind you is the last post in the Developer section. The most interesting thing to look at in the forums is that no one know’s when the game is coming out. And to top it all off a couple of days ago the developer Headfirst Productions ( http://www.headfirst.co.uk ) was announced to be working on another Cthulhu game due out in 2006 ( http://www.hip-europe.com/news.php?id=22&langue=1 ). I’m wondering which will hit the stores first?

You can’t really take online dealers release dates to heart but they have got to put something up I guess.

Pre-Release
ETA: 9/1/2005

It’s ashame that this game as been in development for such a long time. I remember being really excited about it after reading the first article covering it. Hell Penny Arcade even had a comic way back in 2000 with the news ( http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2000-01-14&res=l ). Of course the features that I remember talking about aren’t even going to be in the finished game (if there is a finished game).

On the flip side… ‘Loop’ the final book in the Ring series IS coming out on May 25th!

Too funny.

I just thought I’d share…

http://www.coolidge.org/s_mid_may05.html#buffy

“The return of our one-of-a-kind Sing-A-Long production of everyone’s favorite monster-fighting cult TV show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer! We’ll give you “Something to Sing About” at this special screening of Joss Whedon’s classic musical episode, including goodie bags full of interactive activities (and plastic vampire teeth, of course), subtitles so you can sing-a-long with Buffy and the gang, our ringleader cast from Queer Soup (creators of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s High School Reunion”) who will guide you through the night… and bunnies! Ahhhhh!
After the singing, stick around for an ultra-rare screening of the original Buffy pilot episode, featuring a totally different Willow and vampires that turn into chalk! Buffy parties like this are popping up all over the country, but it originated here at the Coolidge in a stunning sell out show last year. Don’t miss out on the fun!”

So sick.

You know what I hate the most about being sick? Especially when I feel this bad? I can’t taste anything. Oh and I feel like crap. Blah blah.

Anyway, it’s about an hour before that whole Xbox360 mess gets shown on mtv. I don’t think I’m going to watch but I’m sick so I’m not really doing much else at the moment. Anyway, back to feeling like crap.
