June 27th, 2007 — Blog, DS, Movies
Earlier today the word came down – I had, coming my way, a couple copies of Transformers DS (Autobots and Decepticons) and a pass to see a preview screening of the movie tomorrow night!
Hopefully, the wait in line is going to be worth it…
*update*
I don’t want to spoil the movie since it’s not out for a couple of days – if you like action films you should go give it a viewing. I will say however – when BumbleBee is introduced, pay attention to the air freshener hanging from his rear view. Also, keep an eye out for the line: “Opps, my bad!”

Yay! Just got home and my e-mail box had a present for me – in the form of a beta invite for Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa! So, I’ll be dedicating all of my bandwidth to downloading the client – along with 9,999 other people. I’ll have to go back and see if there was an NDA or something – I don’t recall signing one but… I better check before I post something I shouldn’t.
June 14th, 2007 — Gaming, Retro Gaming, Xbox 360, Xbox Live Arcade
I haven’t mentioned it here – but, everyone who has wandered near my cube – knows that I am really excited about the upcoming release of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Although, I have to admit once I had a chance to play the arcade version again today I was completely destroyed. Apparently, you can forget how to play – mind you I wasn’t the greatest player but, I could hold my own (ah, memories – and lots of quarters). I was always very sad that the arcade I work at many years ago did not have SSF2T as it was a few years after it’s release and the owner always thought that Soul Calibur was a better draw. So, with this retro goodness it was good to hear that Super Puzzle Fighter would also be receiving a fresh coat of paint and released on Xbox Live Arcade. These releases may very well lead to my first purchases from the Live Arcade. Which is a difficult thing to accomplish since as far as I’m concerned everything up there is over priced – also, I don’t believe in the whole Live points (or whatever they are called) system – just charge me five bucks and be done with it!
Whatever – I’ve got to figure out some time in my schedule where I can fit in some training…

For some reason my feed subscription to Haze’s Mame WIP page wasn’t working so I missed the news yesterday when it was posted… Capcom’s Play System 3 encryption has been broken by Andreas! Now, this does not mean you can go grab a copy of MAME and play Street Fighter 3 yet, but maybe someday soon…
