Half-Life: Complete

Half-Life: Lost Coast
Finally, after all this time I’ve finally played and finished every released portion of the Half-Life series. Released as part of an Nvidia/Steam promotion a little while back I was extremely excited to get my hands on this little piece of the Half-Life universe. Released in October of 2005 Lost Coast is basically a tech demo showcasing the Source engine’s ability to render scenes using high dynamic range lighting and Valve’s new in-game commentary system. Now, I just need to wait until Half-Life 2: Episode 3 is released. Which knowing Valve is right around the corner…

In The Name Of Decency

Yesterday, I received a call from my friend Mike - he was trying to get me to go see In the Name of the King.  Having seen a number of Uwe Boll’s movies I refused.  I’ll wait see it until its out on DVD and I don’t have to pay any real world money.  So for now this is the closest I’ll be getting to this train wreck.  Mike was quick to say the movie wasn’t that bad - it was just a typical B-movie - with a (strangely) large cast of known actors.  Anyway, I’ll reserve judgment until I can see it for free.In the Name of the King

Post-Season Wrap-up

Happy 2008!

Since I managed to receive cash from most people this Christmas is decided to spend a small chunk of it on games. So, I finally picked up Guild Wars: Nightfall and Eye of the North - with no purchasing issues this time around! I also picked up Company of Heroes (via Steam), a game which I had played the demo a couple of times but, never got into due to my needing to upgrade my video card before it would play decent. On the Xbox 360 side, Kris picked me up a copy of Mass Effect. I certainly could have picked up more but since they would just sit on the shelf I decided to wait until I managed to finish a couple.Psychonauts

On the gift giving side of things, life was made easier by Steams gift giving feature and the sale they had going on. I sent out a few of copies of Psychonauts to some people who I know haven’t played it - and probably won’t until they break the hold that Team Fortress 2 has over them.  Anyway, I need to finish some work so I can get back to Guild Wars
