Tue, 27 Dec 2011 03:08:04 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3 Back To The Internet http://www.shindakun.net/back-to-the-internet/ http://www.shindakun.net/back-to-the-internet/#comments Mon, 26 May 2008 04:04:53 +0000 steve http://www.shindakun.net/?p=616 Well, I’m starting to get settled in the new apartment – Comcast was here today and installed my cable and internet.  So, things should be getting back to normal.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to catch up on the gaming during my commute to work using Portland’s public transportation system.  Thats one bus and then the MAX train – which should be perfect getting in some time with my DS.  I’ve been bringing it along but haven’t actually played any games since, I’ve been using it as an MP3 player.  I’ve got a few games to catch up on, including a fresh copy of Space Invaders Extreme from Play Asia.  We’ll see what the coming week brings though.

I don’t want to spoil the movie since it’s not out for a couple of days – if you like action films you should go give it a viewing. I will say however – when BumbleBee is introduced, pay attention to the air freshener hanging from his rear view. Also, keep an eye out for the line: “Opps, my bad!”

Anyway, now that I’m starting to feel better hopefully I’ll be able to fall into my old pre-game tester schedule…

In the lowly position that is QA Tester. It’s not going to make me rich but, as my friend said – it’s getting paid to play video games. Of course, they will most likely, be broken unplayable video games but, at least I get a look behind the scenes. I don’t start till the 13th and probably won’t be able to say much beyond some vague remarks due to the whole NDA thing so don’t expect to hear to much about it…

It went pretty well, I played a canceled and unreleased Gameboy Advance game (they hit me with an NDA right away – so I’ll leave out the details – I’m sure you understand) and according to my interviewer, I discovered a bug no one else had found. Go me!

I have to give a call tomorrow to find out if I’m offered the job. I can’t decide of I’m going to take it – if it is even offered to me. The pay is so low. I am doing work as a “part time” computer consultant right now and well, lets just say I do OK pay-wise and have a lot of free time. Problem is my main customer needs an in office visit once or twice a month – the game test gig might be fun but, it’s a pay cut if I can’t at least keep this one customer.

I guess I’ll have to wait till tomorrow to see what’s up…
