Well, it’s official - I now work for Vicarious Visions. In the lowly position that is QA Tester. It’s not going to make me rich but, as my friend said - it’s getting paid to play video games. Of course, they will most likely, be broken unplayable video games but, at least I get a look behind the scenes. I don’t start till the 13th and probably won’t be able to say much beyond some vague remarks due to the whole NDA thing so don’t expect to hear to much about it…

Anyway, I have to go try the Sam and Max demo - you should too!

So, this morning I had an interview for a QA Tester position down at Vicarious Visions, my friendly neighborhood game developer. It went pretty well, I played a canceled and unreleased Gameboy Advance game (they hit me with an NDA right away - so I’ll leave out the details - I’m sure you understand) and according to my interviewer, I discovered a bug no one else had found. Go me!

I have to give a call tomorrow to find out if I’m offered the job. I can’t decide of I’m going to take it - if it is even offered to me. The pay is so low. I am doing work as a “part time” computer consultant right now and well, lets just say I do OK pay-wise and have a lot of free time. Problem is my main customer needs an in office visit once or twice a month - the game test gig might be fun but, it’s a pay cut if I can’t at least keep this one customer.

I guess I’ll have to wait till tomorrow to see what’s up…

And here I thought I had enough to worry about from my own government (with that whole tapping of phones and spying on US citizens thing that had the mindless drones up in arms for about a second until Fox News gave them something else to look at). I was just taking a look through my web stats, as I’m known to do from time to time and I happen to notice that someone was doing a lot of Google searching for my nick - and it was from someone from within the Australian Department of Defense. Weird right?

Anyway, to my new friend with ADD (I’m sure I’m not the first to make that joke) - Welcome! I hope you find that PSP review your looking for! Although, I’m pretty sure I didn’t write it. And just so you know - yes, I am saddened with the loss of Steve Irwin, he was great at dodging those snakes!
