Now I've done it…
That's right, I finally went out and picked up a DS Lite. I couldn't hold out for the blue version any longer and I couldn't justify importing it (even though I really wanted it). So, yesterday I bit the bullet and got a DS and a copy of New Super Mario Brothers (which is great as most of you probably already know).
Look for some DS related post eventually.

Well, I have to say, even though you went for the White DS Lite, at least you can get warranty service for it. I can’t. Have you read the stories about the small crack appearing on the left side of the hinge of some DS Lites? It happened to mine!
I have to live with it, though, because Nintendo USA won’t service an imported product.
Awww man that is terrible! I’ve been trying so hard to be careful and not open it all the way till it locks in. But yeah I got the replacement plan when I bought it so even if I do crack it I’m OK. It’s only a small crack right? Does it mess with the DS opening or closing?
It doesn’t in any way affect how the DS opens/closes. So far, it’s only cosmetic, which is good! I’m being even more careful with it now.
