Big news:
IBM has announced that their Broadway chip custom-designed for Nintendo's Wii console is not only already in Nintendo's hands but has been since July. "We have been shipping well within this quarter (July)," said Ron Martino, director of IBM Technology Collaboration Solutions. "In fact, we have shipped a significant volume in this quarter."
…and it's pretty disappointing. I was under the impression that the Broadway chips were coming out of East Fishkill, NY (someone check BluePages and let me know if that's right) and since no one has been laid off so I always assumed that production good… Also, it's amazing how Joystiq readers went nuts on hearing the 'news'. This is my favorite so far:
