Joystiq is reporting that they have some major news regarding one of the next generation consoles.  We'll all have to wait till 12:01 AM EST before we'll hear what it is…  Maybe Sony is pulling out of the console market…

Media Blasters will be releasing Voltron: Defender of the Universe on DVD this fall!

Not only that but, they will also be releasing Hundred Beast King GoLion and Armored Squadron Dairugger XV on DVD starting next year.

I still have the Voltron VHS tapes I made a friend record from when the show first hit Cartoon Network way back in the day. In fact, I might have to skip sleeping tonight and pull those tapes out. If they actually release the GoLion sets here in the states it will make me very happy!

*update* Oh and don't forget the Voltron live action movie that is supposedly coming out in 2008!

The big news for today? The redesigned Nintendo DS! It won't be hitting the shelves till March 2nd (wonder when the US release is going to be). I'm guessing the release delay is probably to help dry up stock in places other then Japan where it is already sold out – a wise move on Nintendo's part.

And you know what that means? Ebay is going to get flooded with the old model! I'm hoping to finally get one – which will promptly be flashed so I can run homebrew apps. We'll have to wait and see what design changes they have made this time around to stop people from flashing the firmware – and how long till Darkfader cracks this one too.
